Families,
Friends & Neighbors (FFN) Training and Mentoring
Project for Child Care Providers
Funded by
FFN is on its 3rd year and has proven to be the best training in LA for license exempt child care providers!!
The goal of the program is to train family members, friends, and neighbors who provide child care for more than 15 hours a week, without a child care license - this includes grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and anyone who helps take care of children. CNVEP is excited to offer this comprehensive training program that involves classes in Spanish and English to learn the philosophy of nonviolent child raising as well as practical activities to do with children 0-5. The program also involves field trips, opportunities to meet other providers, involvement in the CNVEP community, CPR and First-aid certification, information about community resources, and support. Each participant is connected with a a mentor who will offer support and information on a one-on-one basis. Child care will be offered for all classes and events provided by qualified early childhood teachers. And to top it off this program is FREE.
